Historic Landmarks Foundation
Michigan St. Downtown
On March 12, 2009, the Historic Landmarks Foundation of Indiana headquarters was damaged by the worst structure fire in Indianapolis in 20 years. Sections of the J. Reid Williamson Center’s roof framing burned and all four floors at the north end of the building suffered extensive water damage. VR Restoration was privileged to provide mitigation services; securing and drying the building and saving hundreds of historical documents and contents exposed to water and soot. VR Restoration is proud to have helped save these valuable pieces of Indiana’s history and protect the building, itself an historic landmark.

| Multi-Family Fire Restoration |

This building at Williamsburg Way Apartments in Columbus suffered a first floor fire that severely damaged the two units above. The second and third floor units had to be completely reframed to replace damage joists. Those units were rebuilt and the three adjacent units that were affected with smoke were cleaned and painted and ready for tenants in less than five months.

| Residential Fire Restoration |

This house in Noblesville suffered a fire that destroyed a large portion of the roof and sustained extensive water damage. The restoration required a nearly complete rebuild of the house. We replaced ¾ of the roof system and had to completely gut the interior and replace all the finish materials because of the water. We were able to complete the repairs and hand the transformed house back to the owners in just over 4 months.

Wet Basement Restoration |
|
A fresh water supply line filled this basement with about one inch of water; a real nuisance which definitely needed to be addressed. We moved contents out of the way, detached the carpet and removed the wet pad that couldn’t be dried because of a vapor barrier. We were then able to float and dry the carpet in place. The walls had started to wick water so we carefully detached the baseboard and injected air into the wall cavities to quickly dry the drywall. We were able to save the baseboard and carpet keeping the repair costs and repair time to a minimum.

Wet Floor Restoration |

This beautiful Meridian Kessler home suffered an electrical short in the ceiling which caused a small fire in the attic. It only damaged a small portion of the framing but the water used to extinguish the flames ran clear to the basement. The fire department was able to get many contents out of harms way but the oak flooring original to the house had standing water on it and was at serious risk. Using our state of the art extraction mats to draw the water out from between and under the 70 year old boards we were able to save that flooring and restore it to it original beauty.
