Fire Restoration Cost and Timing
The goal of the restoration process is to transform a smoke, fire, or soot-damaged structure into an environment that is clean, safe, and free of odors. To accomplish this, the structure and its contents must be returned to the same or better appearance and cleanliness than before the damage occurred, with the most economical and efficient means possible.
Timing of the restoration process will vary with the size of the loss. If a small portion of a house was damaged, like one room or one section, the restoration process can take a few weeks. However, if the entire building was damaged, the process can take from four to nine months.
Factored into the length of time needed for the restoration work are securing the approved insurance estimate from both the contractor and the insurance provider as well as pulling any government permits that are needed.
While the cost of fire restoration is dependent on the homeowner’s insurance policy, in most cases, the only out of pocket expense for the homeowner is the deductible. We strongly advise you to understand the coverage your insurance policy provides. Be sure to contact your agent if you have any questions, and feel free to ask us any questions along the way!
